Ambisonia / ambisonics needs a forum and a wiki

We need a Wiki so that the community can document things like:

  1. how to record ambisonics
  2. what micorphones are available on the market
  3. how to play back ambisonics
  4. what software is available to playback and author ambisonics
  5. how to set up speakers etc.

And we need a forum so that people can ask lots of questions and they can get answered by the experts. When questions get asked on a private un-published list like sursound, that knowledge base gets lost almost instantly. When questions get asked on a forum,  that knowledge base is leveragable … Google will find it and index it and people will have access to it.

Lastly, this can help the server up its page hits and hence Google adsense earnings .. hopefully help me get closer and closer to that ever important ‘sustainability‘ status.

I’m onto it.

  1. I have more than once in the past suggested sursound to become a forum rather than a mailing list for all the benefits that would bring, but people were not interested. I would be very interested in a wiki/forum for Ambisonics and spatial audio in general.

  2. and I still dont understand why the sursound list is not public… imagine the number of hits from google all the archived emails would get! …

Anyway, I will set up both a forum AND a wiki next week … shouldn’t be too hard.
